You process many images at once, pick a preset or a longest edge from 640 to 2560 pixels, and download everything as a ZIP. Images are never uploaded; EXIF and GPS data are removed on conversion.

Your phone photos are too big for the email, the form or the website. Many online compressors upload every image to their server, show ads and limit how many images you can do at once.

Many images at once
Drop as many images as you like. Shrink processes them in parallel; only your device sets the limit.
JPEG, WebP or PNG
Choose the output format yourself or use "Auto": PNG and WebP stay as they are, everything else becomes JPEG.
Location data removed
On conversion, EXIF data such as GPS position, camera and capture time is dropped. The photo keeps its correct orientation.
Three presets
"For email" (1280 pixels, 70 %), "Balanced" (1920 pixels, 80 %) and "Best quality" (2560 pixels, 90 %).
Size and quality
Cap the longest edge at 2560, 1920, 1280 or 640 pixels or keep the original; set the quality from 50 to 95 %.
Original when it's already optimal
If an image doesn't get smaller in Auto mode, Shrink keeps the original instead of inflating it.

Data and privacy

- Shrink decodes, scales and encodes your images with your browser's Canvas API, on your device.
- Storage
- We store no images. Our server only counts, anonymously, how many images were finished — no content, no personal data.
- Processors
- None for your images. The page itself is served by our server at Host Europe in Strasbourg, France.

Shrink has no paid plan. There is no limit from our side; very large files only depend on your device.
What Shrink can’t do
- You can't set a target size in KB, such as "under 100 KB", yet.
- Which input formats open depends on your browser; HEIC photos from an iPhone don't work everywhere.
- When Shrink keeps the original in Auto mode, its metadata stays; pick a fixed format if it must go.
- Animated GIFs become a single still image.
- There is no cropping, rotating or editing as in an image editor.

Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. Shrink processes the images in your browser; they never leave your device.
- How many images can I shrink at once?
- As many as your device can handle — there is no limit on our side. At the end you download them all as a ZIP.
- Will I lose quality?
- A little, depending on the setting: "Best quality" barely reduces, "Balanced" is the recommended middle, "For email" makes images small and fast. If an image doesn't get smaller in Auto mode, Shrink keeps the original.
- Is location data removed?
- Yes, for every image Shrink converts: EXIF data such as the GPS position is dropped. Only when Shrink keeps the original in Auto mode does it stay unchanged; pick a fixed format such as JPEG then.
- JPG, PNG or WebP — which should I choose?
- JPEG or WebP for photos, PNG or WebP for graphics, screenshots and images with transparency. WebP is usually smaller at the same quality, and "Auto" chooses for you.
- Can I shrink an image to a specific size in KB?
- Not directly yet. You get close by lowering the longest edge, for example to 1280 pixels, and reducing the quality; Shrink shows the new file size straight away.
